Dear Parents,

NEISD has been given the honor of creating an artistic environment in which volunteers and celebrants of the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner may share in the wonderful sights, smells, and sounds of this community event.  I am asking for your help in making this Thanksgiving experience a truly memorable one.

Students will be writing messages inside and on their artwork.  I am asking parents to help find a memorable saying or quote that captures the essence of the Holiday season.  The message may be quoted from a writer or famous person, be taken from the bible, words of wisdom passed down from your own family, or something new and original that your family would like to share with viewer.  Please remember to give credit to the original author by including his/her name or place from where the quote was taken.

Do a little research and involve your children in the search.  Students may write their quote on a piece of paper and bring it into class.

Another Idea is to have your child interview someone (grandmother/grandfather, Aunt/Uncle, Etc.) And ask them what they are thankful for.

Our fourth graders are hard at work creating a three dimensional cake which they will get to design and decorate.  I would like to use these miniature masterpieces as centerpieces at our annual Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving dinner.

Other grade levels will be making ships, turkey baskets, scarecrows, Native Americans, and place mats.  We are still in need of cereal boxes, Large brown paper bags, pine cones, leaves, acorns, raffia, and paper towel rolls.

Thank you for all your continued support-
