CANstruction

CANstruction, an event committed to ending hunger, is using "one can" as a catalyst for change.

Competing teams led by San Antonio architects, designers, engineers and contractors will showcase their talents by designing and building structures made entirely out of canned goods. These “CANstructures” will be on display and open for public viewing throughout North Star Mall. CANstructures will be judged and the winner will have the opportunity to compete at the national competition.

At the conclusion of the exhibit, all canned goods will be donated to the San Antonio Food Bank. For information about how you can support the San Antonio Food Bank, contact Monica Borrego, Food & Fund Drive Coordinator at (210) 431-8310.

The display runs through September 26, 2009. Please view this exhibit if you have the opportunity. Castle Hills Elementary students will be building a dragon made of food cans in the spring for the carnival.
